What do you think of this? Would you pay? I was just scrolling through my Instagram 1 min ago and received a notification from Netflix that I should pay for me to stream videos. Then it clicked. What if I had to pay to scroll through my Instagram feed. Would I? Would you? From here, here’s what got on my mind:

How much are we attached to Instagram?

Now I ain’t no social media addict, that’s for sure. I know a couple of friends who are though… and for them I find it evolving to a mother-daughter type of relationship. It’s crazy when you realize that smartphone owners use Instagram, an average of 53 min per day of daily routine. This number solely proves that involuntary, we’re now emotionally and mentally sort of dependent on a mobile app.

So if you’re so attached to it, would you pay?

Aren’t we already paying?

Actually no, we’re not. However we do pay for the internet, that must count for something right? Oh, we also paid for our phone. But nevertheless, the right answer is… no, we’re not already paying for Instagram cause it’s a free app in the App Store I guess.

Then you’re not paying now, would you pay in the future?

What would be the alternative?

Well, there are tons of alternatives, but none deliver a vibrant, seamless and smart user experience like Instagram. But we if we had to choose an alternative, pick on of those: Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Imgur, Tumblr, StumbleUpon or 500px. Or you can also go to the old fashion face-to-face social engagement and get so REAL likes, comments, shares and all that shi** that got digitized. 🙂

So, would you pay?
